Mercedes is Repeating Itself
After launching the all-new E-Class, the E63 AMG S, the Estate, and the All-Terrain, I was expecting something really different and more dramatic to stand out, especially when they announced that they were launching the E-Class Coupe. Sadly, it is just identical to every other new Mercedes they've launched, and to be more honest, I am disappointed because we usually know Mercedes by its individuality; every single model used to have a unique character. Truth be told, this year I can't recognize one model from another; just kidding, but really, most people do. I am saying this because I am a Mercedes guy.

The new E-Class Coupe is based on the sedan version, sportier and with the coupe characteristics. The thing that kept reminding me of past E-Class Coupe models is the window lines. If you look at it from the side view, you'll recognize the nostalgic touch that gives it more flair. The front is like the sedan model, with the same lights and grille. The front bumper is more distinctive, as it is a coupe. The rear end is just like a few other Mercedes models, and to be more exact, it is like the S-Class Coupe with minor differences, which include the new lighting system: flat LED tail lamps with innovative crystal optics that add a bright appearance to imitate the glow of a jet engine. The interior is copy-paste, the same thing you'll see in all Mercedes cars. I still don't know why they keep repeating themselves in every new model they launch. The problem is that they are planning to launch another 10 or 15 new models.
Mercedes is launching four engines for now: one diesel engine and three petrol engines, starting from 135 kW (184 hp) to 245 kW (333 hp). The new diesel engine is a four-cylinder engine that marks a new level of efficiency: a 2-litre engine that peaks at 3,800 rpm, producing 143 kW and 194 horsepower, with a top speed of 242 km/h. The average fuel consumption is 4 litres for every 100 kilometres, with low CO₂ emissions that reach 106 grams per kilometre. It features a refined single-stage turbocharger with variable turbine geometry. All models are available with 9G-Tronic, a nine-speed automatic transmission, and Direct Control suspension that will assure you a comfortable ride and driving pleasure. For a sportier look, it is 15 mm lower than the sedan model. Dynamic Body Control suspension with adjustable damping is available optionally, allowing it to be lowered using a switch in the centre console as part of the standard DYNAMIC SELECT system, plus a wide range of adjustment options: Comfort, Sport, and Sport+.
Honestly, I had to say all that because I'm really devastated to see all the same things they have been offering all year long. It was really nice when they launched the S-Class, but after that it became boring and they started repeating themselves. Look at the SUV range, then look at the C-Class, the E-Class, and the S-Class: all with the same interior, and on the exterior they are swapping designs between models.
